How to add an Expert Advisor (EA) to MetaTrader 5

Installing an Expert Advisor in MetaTrader 5:
1. Download the Expert Advisor file (typically .ex5 or .mq5 format).
2. Launch MetaTrader 5 and locate the "File" menu on the top left.

3. Access the data directory through the menu option.
​
4. In the opened file explorer, navigate to the MQL5 folder, then the Experts subfolder.
5. Transfer the Expert Advisor file into this Experts folder (Copy Paste or Cut).
6. Return to the MetaTrader 5 interface and find the Navigator panel (Ctrl + N shortkey).

7. Locate the Expert Advisors section in the Navigator, use the right click menu to refresh the list.

8. The newly added Expert Advisor should now appear in the list.

How to run an Expert Advisor in MetaTrader 5
1. Make sure you have allowed Algo Trading from the menu on top and it looks like the image bellow.​

2. From the navigator window, under Expert Advisors, drag the EA you are trying to use and drop it on a chart.​​

From the setup pop-up window, check the boxes for “allow algo trading”.
